Today I am most grateful for a wonderful night spent with a wonderful friend. Even after spending very little time with each other in the last year, we are still great friends and can talk about just about anything. It's fantastic. We sat and chatted while he made dinner for his sister's date tonight. I got some too and it was DELICIOUS! I told him he could make me dinner any night. I just miss being around him a lot. I miss all the jokes and just sitting and doing nothing for long periods of time. I just miss him all around. We've already made plans to do stuff over winter break. It shall be marvelous. Be prepared for magicalness my friends.
Oh, and just so you're aware, he'll start spreading rumors that I drop hints very subtly and he's finally catching on. Don't believe anything that he says ;)

Exploding Spider
The past couple of times that I've been at Alex's house (which is becoming few and far between because we never have time to hang out anymore...), we've found a spider. Guess who killed them? Nope, not Alex. Not the boy. It was me. The first time it was on the wall. Being brave, as soon as I spotted the spider crawling towards the ceiling, I immediately removed my shoe and smashed it with ease. Last night Alex and I were sitting on the couch. He spotted another spider, (on the hard wood floor) but this time it was scurrying across the ground. Here's some dialogue:
Alex: (pretty calmly) Hey, there's a spider on the floor. I'm surprised that it's in such an open place. Usually they hide in corners or something.
Sav: (After spotting the spider) Oh yeah, that is a pretty ugly looking spider. I smashed the spider last time. It's your turn.
Alex: Um... no thanks.
I rolled my eyes, got off the couch, grabbed my shoe that was next to the couch and went around it in hopes of sneaking up on said spider. I skillfully succeeded in approaching it without it moving. (I have many experiences in the art of smashing spiders. Been doing it my whole life cause my dad never would.) I slowly lifted up my purple shoe, aimed carefully and threw it down on the spider. My eyes widened and to my amazement, the spider EXPLODED. Or at least that was my initial thought. It didn't make sense because the spider wasn't even that big. It wasn't your ordinary house spider, but it wasn't pretty by any means. Gross black bits were everywhere. I then realized that what had "exploded" was the bottom of my shoe. Being worn quite often, to work and everywhere else, the bottom of my shoes have gathered many miscellaneous items within the crevices of its sole (mostly including sesame seeds that have gathered from working at a sandwich shop). After realizing that the spider's death wasn't as brutal as I thought, I took my shoe, put it back next to the couch and sat down.
Then I made Alex clean it up.

Dos and Don'ts on Dating
Do-
Go up the canyon and have a picnic
and take homemade root beer
Go up the canyon and have a picnic
and take homemade root beer
Don't-
Forget the paper plates
or the cups for the root beer
or a spoon to stir it with.
or a spoon to stir it with.
| (He ended up using an empty water bottle to stir it up... haha) |
Take dry ice (for multiple reasons)
Don't-
Put it in a water bottle and close the lid
(don't worry, it wasn't completely shut, it's just an FYI)
Do-
Completely stuff the trunk with blankets
Don't-
forget to bring enough
Do-
Play frisbee
Don't-
Throw the frisbee so far that it lands in the ice cold river and you have to go after it making you cold for the rest of the night (just saying...)
Do-
Play with chalk
Don't-
Get it all over your pants... haha
Do-
Admire the deer that frolics through the camp from a distance
Don't-
Have the desire to go up to it and pet it and even be tempted to jump on it and ride the wild animal
Do-
Lay out a bunch of blankets and star gaze as it gets darker
Don't-
Forget to bring enough blankets so you don't get cold
Do-
Choose a star together to wish upon
(we chose the big dipper and yes, I know it's more than one star)
Don't-
Have everyone fall asleep or else uld get into trouble
(haha, don't worry, that didn't happen, but we thought it would be funny if it did)
Do-
Go to your dates house the day before when they're at work and have their sister make their bed and decorate it for you for them to come home to
Major brownie points :)

It's Probably Just Because He's Cute
Wow.
Summer is starting off amazingly.
Nothing extravagent has been happening,
but it's stress free and so much fun.
Really.
I've been working all weekend,
and I love it.
I love my job and everything about it.
Alex is fitting in quite nicely with the Sensuous gang
and is getting along with all the girls that he has met so far.
(And the older ladies that come in to get their fix of sandwiches and end up flirting with him. ;) )
He's established orders.
He got many compliments on how well he's doing for only his 2nd day on the job.
Psh...
It's probably just because he's cute.
(He has caught on quickly, don't worry. He's doing really well.)
Hahaha, but I seriously can't help but laugh at all the older women that would comment about him to me all the way down at the cash register.
So funny.
Not just elderly women though.
Don't worry.
Middle-aged too!
He kept telling me how many comments (compliments) he got about his eyes as well.
Which are a fake color (in case you didn't know).
The green color is cool though.
Can't wait to see others' reactions when he wears his lavender ones.
We've also established that he likes taking orders and interacting with the customers a lot more than filling the banana pepper containers.
Haha, awesome.
He's gotta learn it sometime!
On Saturday, Kali asked me how weird it was for him to be working there... on a scale of 1-10, I said 8. That was his first day.
Today it would be more like a... 6.
It's gradually getting less weird as he learns everything.
I think it may take a while for it to become completely normal (if ever...)
but it's definitely been fun. You should come in and see us. Definitely :)
Haha, I'll be sure to keep you updated on more fun with Alex and the other newbies at the shop.
