Don't Fear the Darkroom: 1

Here, ladies and gents, would be a lovely photo that I took down in St. George this past weekend, which I love and wanted to share with you all. Kinzie was holding my camera and taking some shots and so I decided to take one of her crouched down with the sweet shadow. I added a 2.5 contrast filter and did some touching up because of water spots on my negatives (ha, totally my fault). Anyways, here is this beauty. My first public share of my darkroom stuff. :)

Expressing Thankfulness [Day 7]

Today I'm grateful for proactivity. Not because I've been proactive today - in fact, quite the opposite, but I just thought I would let you know that I have a book report due in the morning and I haven't exactly started it. Let the BSing begin. Not to mention that I have the beginnings of an English paper due in the morning as well. Heck yes. I rock at this whole procratination thing!

Okay, for reals though:

  • I'm very grateful for all of my friends who got their mission calls tonight.
    • Nate: Alpine German Speaking Mission (consists of Germany, Austria and Switzerland
    • Cam: Germany Frankfurt
    • Several others got theres, but these are the ones I'm most excited for! These two guys are stellar and are such great examples to me and everyone else around them!
  • My counsellor, Juanita, IS THE BEST! She is just so fun and spunky and loves to have fun. It's just hilarious! I mean, who else will suggest we shut the door and watch YouTube videos in between our meeting. Seriously, she is the best :)

Things to do to keep life interesting:

Sometimes I find that even Mr. Broadbent can find funny things to show the class. Recently, he's shown us some comics or even a video or two at the start of class that has to do with physics... or not. Sometimes, they're just random and pointless, but awesome. Just like yesterday! Yesterday he pulled up a powerpoint slide with the title: "Things to do to keep life interesting:" I thought to myself, this ought to be interesting. Well, it was freaking hilarious. Just saying. Therefore, I shall share them with you. Anybody interested in doing them with me, you just tell me when and where and I'll be there! :)

  • Sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
  • Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.
  • Order a diet water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.
  • Specify that your drive-through order is 'to go'.
  • When the money comes out of the ATM, scream, "I WON! I WON!"
  • When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot yelling,"Run for your lives! They're loose!"
Well, once I have accomplished these...
I'll find something else entertaining to do
and then I'll be sure to tell you ALL about it.

Oh, and PS I got a cool lookin' keychain at the Drama Banquet tonight for being stage manager at the beginning of the year. I felt special. :)

Crawling Over the Finish Line

In English, my teacher Mrs. Crampton, has been getting mad at us because very few of us have done anything lately. (ahem... like the take-home quiz that we had a week to do and only 10/32 kids turned it in... I wasn't one of them...)

We're tired,
exhausted,
and done.
WITH SCHOOL.
I'm sure I can speak for every single one of us when I say,
Summer could NOT come fast enough.
We're ready to be kids again.
Screw growing up.
I just wanna play every day!
Ha,
nope.
We're doomed if that's what we want out of life.
Ah, well.

So anyways,
she tells us that we need to run across the finish line.
Well, I just tripped and fell and didn't end up getting up for a minute.
I've got a ton to do and text books are getting turned in tomorrow...
Like... the ones that I need.
Ha, so I'd better go and make the best of them while I still have them.

Oh, and I have my last choir concert tonight.
So you should come.
It's most likely the last choir concert I'll ever be in.
Sounds exciting doesn't it?
Not really.
I'm upset,
but it'll be alright.
Next year holds great things for me.
I am quite excited.
Lovely.
Gotta get going.
Life is good.
Life will be better once summer comes though. :)

My Life as a Techie...

It's weird... I'm gonna be perfectly honest... I miss the stage too. But I have so much fun, and oddly, I don't mind living at the school for a month straight when rehearsals get longer and longer and we all get crankier and exhausted. Let me tell ya, I had fun with Footloose and can't wait for more fun this year. Seriously. It'll be awesome. These are pictures that we took on closing night and were just messing around before the show started. They don't even begin to explain the immense amount of fun that we have up there and watching the show 5 times, not including rehearsals, you tend to get the songs and scenes stuck in your head all the time. It happens. But I love it! I'm sad yet relieved and overjoyed that it's over. Great memories to look back on :)

Favorite Costumes at School

Dressed up as a tourist, I walked around at school today taking pictures of everybody's costumes. It was rather entertaining. The best part about halloween in high school is the fact that you either don't dress up at all, or your costume is absolutely and brilliantly clever and/or just plain awesome. Here are some of my favorite costumes that I saw today. I think it better to just show you rather then to tell you :)

Today was definitely a lot of fun and I can't wait for tomorrow!!!

A Guest Visitor in English

So you may be surprised to know that my English teacher, Mrs. Crampton, brought a guest visitor to class last week... yeah... her name is Rosie and she's extremely calm and pleasant (not necessarily the way she looks but work with me here...) yeah, let me just show you... oh yeah... and she likes hair... haha!

The Beauties of Study Hall

The beautiful thing about study hall is Fridays. My friends, we play silly games, listen to music, hang out and just have a good time. Today some of the jocks came in because of their low grades. Unfortunately, we have to be quiet today, even though we're not really doing it. We're still jamming out to our iPods and just hanging out while I update this blog of mine! Anyways, we do so many great things and it's really helped me catch up and stay caught up... unless that is... I don't feel like doing anything. Today, mainly because I'm glad that we're doing random things because it's gotten my mind off of what's to come after school. Thank goodness for that. When I do my homework, it gives me too much time to think, that's for sure. Well, while Styx is ringing in my ears, I'm enjoying the sweet sound of the low chatter in the room. For once in my life, I'm thankful for a distraction.

Here's Craig doing a funny pose and completely holding it. It was sweet, so I took a picture of it. Sorry it's sideways. Haha, this computer is wack!

Come Sail Away

I realized that if I don't get my act together soon, my BCF will have me beat at blogging. Nuh-uh. Not gonna happen. I shall be blogging queen!!! Mwahahaha! Anyways... just sayin'...

Well, tonight's been pretty emotional. Crazy to say the least. Watched a great movie (at least part of it that I need to finish the rest of) and then went to the choir concert. Not really much to say except that it was a good time. Here's some photos.

I like this picture a lot because we're singing "Come Sail Away". Hands down, one of the best songs ever written.

Here are the lyrics to one of our songs that we sang, that I absolutely love dearly.
~Styx

I'm sailing away
Set an open course for the Virgin Sea
'Cause I've got to be free
Free to face the life that's ahead of me

On board, I'm the captain
So climb aboard
We'll search for tomorrow on every shore
And I'll try, oh Lord, I'll try to carry on

I look to the sea
Reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had

We lived happily forever
So the story goes
But somehow we missed out on the pot of gold
But we'll try best that we can to carry on

A gathering of Angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said

They said, "Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me lads
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me baby
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me"

I thought that they were Angels, but to my surprise
We climbed aboard their starship, we headed for the skies

Singing, come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me lads
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me

Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me

Homecoming

So as you can probably see from the topic of the post, I did end up making a decision. I decided to go to the carnival and the game, and I don't regret it whatsoever. :] It all started off with an awesome hour long lunch and then finishing off the school day in B4 Drama with a good chunk of the gang. Afterwards I went home and got ready for the evening. It was, not even joking, the best night I've had in a REALLY long time! It was great to see Alex there. Right at the beginning, as Shae Hunsaker [our student body president] starting singing the National Anthem before kick-off, Izak conveniently pointed out our favorite friend from Mountain View walking along the track. We suddenly got excited. I couldn't help but run as soon as the song was over. I ran down the bleachers and almost knocked him over I was so excited to see him. Hahaha, it was good to see his smiling face. The only difference was that he's probably grown a few inches since I last really saw him in May and his hair is also a lighter brown now and not to mention the slight scruff that he has on his chin. ;] It was so much fun catching up with him. So awesome! We didn't pay much attention to the game, even though we lost miserably to our fellow Mountain View. [7-17] Thankfully though, we had a great time and no body was in a bad mood at all that night which made it great for everybody. It was really hard to leave because no body wanted to separate, but we had to go eventually. The only thing that could've made the night better was if it didn't have to end. That night will definitely be in my memory forever.

Not to be cocky or anything, but Timp is SOOO much cooler than MV when it comes to kindness. Geez... some of us went over to the MV side where they were sitting and went to find people that we knew. Annoyingly we ended up leaving after a few minutes because we felt like we were going to get jumped or something! It was terrible! But we gladly welcomed all of our MV people over to the Timp side. [Not to mention Alex sat with us the whole time!] Sadly he wouldn't let us paint his face blue, but I guess I can see where he's coming from.

Saturday, Kallie and I went over to Cevan's house and we went shopping with Shawnie, Nena and Taylor at the mall. That was a pretty fun time. We then went over to the house to hang out and were there for a good chunk of the day. I guess you could call that our Homecoming party cause we had a pretty good time! Thanks for a great weekend everybody! :]

Homecoming or Mesquite?

I've currently run into a problem. I have to decide whether to go to the Homecoming Game against our rival, Mountain View or go to Mesquite with my mom, sister and the rest of the entended family. If I stay home I get to stay home with Dad for the weekend, which could be super fun. I wouldn't have to work because Mom has already scheduled me off of work to go to Mesquite, but then the realization of them both landing at the same time has left me with the choice to choose. Geez... I hate being like this because if I go to one, I'll wish I was at the other. It happens every time. The few times I wish I could be in two places at once.

This week being Homecoming week consists of many things which would be hard to miss. Friday is when all the fun starts. If I choose to go to Mesquite, I would get checked out from school at about noon tomorrow which is right before lunch and right before the end of 3rd period in Seminary. If I chose to stay, I would get to attend the extended lunch period [a gift from Mr. Murphy for homecoming] and lunch would be almost an hour and then we would all go to 4th period [drama]. After that I would probably go home with Carly and hang out or go home and deck out for the carnival and game. Another thing that's urging me to stay in town is that it IS against Mountain View High therefore most of our buddies from junior high would be there also. Alex would be planning on coming and that would totally make my day to see him and other peeps if they decide to show up. :] The upside to Mesquite would just to spend time with my mom and sister and the rest of the fam and catch up. I hate letting people down and I seriously hate missing things. So what should I choose?

Other events in life are as follows: This week I found out that I got a B on my PreCalc test! Woo! Go me! Yesterday I tried out for a spur of the moment solo for "Stormy Weather" in choir and maybe I'll get it, maybe I won't. Haha, I guess we'll see. Hopefully having it stuck in my head for the past 27 hours will come in handy. At least it's not tooooo terribly annoying. A couple of days ago, Julia [Nik's sister] emailed me about his birthday a month ago and decided that she wanted to have a surprise party for Nik's "Sweet 16" but she could only do it this weekend and that wouldn't work out too well because of Homecoming plans and whatnot. Even though we love Nik, no body wanted to give up the carnival and the biggest game of the year against MV to surprise Nik for his birthday which was a month ago.

Kodey,
Super and not super! Haha

Carly,
Talk about insertive!

Anyways, I hope everything works out alright and the people that I'm not so happy with can make peace.... Grrr... I still don't know what their deal is though... it pisses me off. Anyways, otherwise life is good and life should be good for you too :]

I just wish I didn't have to decide... hmmm...

Lehi Football Game/Performing Arts Carwash

Well, I'd just like to start by saying that this weekend has been a pretty great one! Last night I had the chance to go over to Carly's house and we went to the football game. We went against Lehi AND we won! Even though Lehi totally sucks, we still won. Haha, so yeah. That was a good time even though the game felt like it went on FOREVER! And I was also running on 4 hours of sleep so everybody was asking me if I was alright. But I was fine. Just tired. And I don't remember the score, so sorry about that, but we won by quite a bit :)

Lehi

Timp
This morning we had our Performing Arts Car Wash. It was SOOO much fun! Abby, Lisa, Carly, Craig and Connor [just to name a few] were all there and it was just a freaking BLAST! I don't think I've been washed so much in my entire life... Afterwards, Carly, Craig and I went Craig's house and ate junk food, played video games and just hung out. It was a great day! Hopefully we'll be able to do it again soon!!!

This will definitely be a day to remember.
