10 Goals for Fourth Term

I'm setting some goals.
Because last term DID NOT go well.
Try straight B-'s?
Talk about bringing down my accumulative GPA...
So here are a few goals for 4th term.

  1. Stay on top of EVERYTHING. ABSOLUTELY NO LATE WORK.
  2. Stop procrastinating everything. Get things done early.
  3. Stay ahead and not behind.
  4. 4.0 (I need something to bring my average back up... and a 4.0 would be the one to do that.)
  5. Stop getting so freaking busy and get some sleep at night!
  6. Watch the first season of Chuck over spring break (get over it, I'm obsessed)
  7. Win STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS :)
  8. Get at least a 4 on the AP Calculus Test
  9. Stop missing so much school.
  10. Have fun doing it all :)

I Know That It'll All Be Over Soon... Just Not Soon Enough

Just when I thought I couldn't get any more stupid... I did...
So most of you know that I'm an extremely busy person. Yup.
I am.
And I'll be the first to admit it.
I also hate the fact that I'm sitting here and complaining to all of my readers while my pile of homework exponentiates.
(The use of big words makes me feel better about myself.)
I live to please people.
I can't help but help out whenever I can.
Sometimes I try to avoid it.
But I can't.
With all the crap that I have to do, and the vast amount of homework that I have waiting for me...
I volunteered to tech the Stephen Schwartz review at the high school that is being put on by Productions Company.
I'm an idiot.
I DON'T HAVE TIME.
But of course I did it, because no one else could do it.
And to make things worse?
My campaign isn't all that great...
And neither is my portfolio.
I really wish I could have done better things.
Here's to hoping that my 30-60 second speech will go well tomorrow.
Oh yeah... and that interview that I was telling you all about?
Right, I forgot to mention that one.
And just to add to the dealings of my every day life,
I started getting odd stomach pains today...
PLEASE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING WRONG WITH ME. I'VE GOT ENOUGH PROBLEMS!
That would kill me.
But at the same time, I think that would prove to people just how stressed I am and that I can only be in one place at a time.
If I had the ability to expand myself and multiply and clone,
life would be SOOOO much easier.
But of course not.
I'm happy to be running and in the line to be on student council,
but in all honesty...
Elections could NOT have come at a worse time...
Pray for me.
I'll be lucky if I pull off anything above a 3.5 GPA.
Here goes nothing...
Actually, to be perfectly honest... here goes EVERYTHING.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if I got sick over spring break when I'll finally get to relax.

Hm... well, quite frankly, wish me luck.
Third term SUCKS.
And as of right now... life isn't the greatest...
Yet, I know that it'll all be over soon (just not soon enough)
and life will be good again.
I can't wait for that day.

(More positive posts to come... hopefully sooner than later.)

huh?

I'm so tired tonight. Just ask Alex... it's kind of sad.
I just put "huh?" as the title because I honestly don't know what to call it.
Here's a picture of Alex that I took today, cause we were hanging out.
And I love it.
Almost as much as I love hanging out with him.
It's just for fun I guess.
My life is basically just for fun.
All I'm sayin' is that frankly...
Even though I'm so super stressed that it's not even funny:
Life is still good.

PS I love taking pictures. :)

Ready to be Home

Soooo basically, I've been on tour all weekend. And all of last week. I have got a lot to make-up and lots to do before I get home. And guess what else? It ain't gonna happen. I'm gonna try to get most of it done, but whatever. I fail completely in the area.

Well, here is the highlight of my day.
Yesterday I found out that we were going to be able to have a sacrament meeting while we were in Anaheim. We all managed to fit into Mel and Agnes' room. Mel conducted the meeting (with permission from a bishop of course) and it was just so incredible. There were about 25 out of the 28 kids there. I can HONESTLY say that it was by far the most spiritual, uplifting, sob-infested meeting I have ever been to. It was just so amazing. Some of the guys had nice Sunday clothes but most of us (including myself) were in sweats and jeans and stuff. It rocked. We had an opening song "The Spirit of God" and Chance said our prayer. Austin and Daniel blessed the sacrament and passed it around and then Mel opened up a testimony meeting with his own and telling us how we should be malleable. It's kind of hard to explain, but it was really awesome. Anyways, then he opened it up for everyone to go up and share. In all truth, some of the boys that got up there I had no idea that they had such strong testimonies. My testimony was strengthened by it and I'm sure that the spirit touched every single soul in that room. I loved getting up there and sharing my testimony and sharing that side of me to some of my closest friends. I've loved this trip so much. I really don't want it to end, but it has to. I'm ready to come home. I'm not ready to come back to reality and school and homework and the stresses of my life, but hey, I can't avoid it forever. And either way, life is good.

Happiness vs. Frustration

Happiness is knowing that you're only 24 hours away from TOUR!!!!!!!!!! :D

Frustration is knowing the only thing you have left to pack is your suit (for swimming) and you can't find it... yeah.. just a little anxious to find it.

Happiness is knowing that you don't have to worry about school for a week.

Frustration is knowing that you have a buttload of make-up work to do and a lot to catch up on before you leave... (NOTE: in less than 24 hours)

Happiness is looking at the glass half full.

Frustration is looking at the glass half full of crap.

Happiness is looking forward to a good time.

Frustration is knowing that it all has to end sometime.

Doctrine and Covenants 64:32
Look it up. It's brilliant.

Exhausted Excitement

I. Am. Exhausted.
Nothing bothers me more than when I don't have the time or energy to do all the things that I love. I just hope that I can manage myself a little better next year. I wouldn't say that I'm miserable, but I'm beyond stressed. Grades just aren't my best. Next year there are a few things that are on my side and taken advantage of. Thank goodness I'm gonna have some fun next year.

• I don't have a math class.
• I don't have a science class.
• I have a lot of classes that are relevant to my chosen career (i.e. photography, business management, web design)
• I'm running for student council! (ah! I'm super nervous!) And it's gonna be awesome.
• I have been given the opportunity to be the permanent stage manager for Productions Company, but since I want to take Humanities with Crampton and it is also A4, I'm going to be a TA for Broberg first semester to keep adding and building up my portfolio for a scholarship.

Disadvantages:
• I don't have room for choir. :( This saddens me because I really truly don't know what I am going to do without it! It's crazy! I have worked all through junior high and high school and I'm not even going to tryout for chamber. It depresses me a bit, but I must do things that are going to help me with my future. I just have to take that into consideration.

So basically, either way, whether I make student council or not, I'm going to have a busy year next year. Especially with stage managing, advanced photography, and just keeping up with everything that I do.

Also, it's 12 days till Disneyland! I am so excited to go on this trip!!! It's so exhilarating! We had our tour meeting yesterday and it was just so awesome!!! It made me even more pumped for it just to hear all about it, get our itineraries for it and finally get to see all that we do. My next task is to get together with Carly and make a final list of everything I'm going to take. EVERYTHING. Down to the last bobby pin. I think I'll start on that tomorrow. This vacation is gonna be so nice! It's sweet! Gah! I'm running out of awesome positive words! Anybody got any? Anyways, it's gonna be awesome. And I'm gonna plan where everything is gonna go and have places for stuff. It's just... Wow... It just CANNOT come soon enough!!!!!

So today in English, we started poetry. Yep, that's right. Poetry. I'm probably the most excited about this unit than I normally would (the fact that I got more than half, as well as more than anyone in the class, could have contributed a major part into this excitement). So if I write anything so amazing that it just blows me and Mrs. Crampton away, I'll be sure to share it with you. (Honestly, it's not likely to happen, but we never know now do we?) I'm pretty stoked about it and we can all thank Mrs. Phippen (my English teacher last year) for pounding poetry and figurative language into our heads. I definitely have to give her most of the credit for my soon to be success in our poetry unit.

Alright, now that that is out of the way, I don't really have much else to say. I mean, I could keep going, but I won't, just for the sake of your sanity. Man, I haven't written a rambly blogpost for a while. I quite enjoyed this. :)

I Prefer Peanut Butter

This was one of the activities that we did for Preference.
We made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Except we did things a bit differently... :)
You wish you could make your peanut butter sandwiches like we do!
I would put everyone's videos on here, but they take FOREVER to upload, so hopefully I'll get them all onto Facebook here pretty quickly... okay... eventually... but,
Enjoy!

Triumph

This is another old video that I found.
It's hilarious.
That is... it could be a location joke.
Meaning you had to be there to really find it hilariously amusing.
Eh, you can think we're crazy for all I care.
I still like you.

doubt. (1)

So just in case you don't see the new description on the side of my blog --->
(you may need to scroll down a bit),
Here's the deal with it. I'll ask someone, completely random that I know, to give me a word. A word with deep meaning, that is simple, yet intelligent and then I'LL BLOG ABOUT IT!
Sounds pretty cool right? Yeah, I know.
(I can't believe I came up with it myself.)

I won't be able to do these every day, but I'll do them as often as I feel like.

Today's word is...
doubt.

This word was given to me by one of my bestest girlie friends, Carly :)
The reason I've chosen this one out of the random masses of words that I've received from fellow acquaintances today is because I have had a lot of it lately.
And it's hard to deal with.
And I hate it.
HATE IT.
Almost as much as I hate using the word "and" at the beginning of a sentence, yet, somehow I still manage to use it.

Story time:
Since about September, I've had the sudden urge. You know those kinds of things that you know you have the ability to do, yet, you're not quite sure you have the capability or the power to do it? Yeah... that kind of urge. Ambition caught me by surprise. I don't even know how or why I thought what I thought that day. What I do remember is walking about with Carly... and saying hi to lots of people (as I usually do) and suddenly thinking, "wow, it would be so cool to be Student Body President."
Random. I know.
So I said to Carly (along these lines), "Hm... maybe I should run for SB President?"
And she looked at me and said, "Vanna, I was just about to say that."
(what the...???)
I suddenly had the inspiration to do it.
But alas I had to wait till the end of March to run.
AHHHH!!!!! It's half-way through FEBRUARY!!!
I'm not ready for this!
But I can do it.
I've finally decided that I'm just gonna do it.
I have nothing to lose.
My friends aren't just gonna disown me if I don't make it.
Neither is my family.
(Neither is God...)
My goal is to come out of it triumphant.
(Whether I win the election or not.)
I just have to work hard,
do my best,
and reach above and beyond to reach out to other people.
That's what it's all about for me.
The opportunity to serve people and the student body of Timpanogos High School in a way that I could never do without the position.
It's just an opportunity opener.
And I'm ready to open that door.

But I have those doubts.
Those doubts of whether I can do it or not.
Because my opponent may be more popular than me,
or more outgoing than I am,
or maybe... maybe... just beat me by a long-run.
I'm not sure I could handle that.

But when I talk to people who know me really well,
who know me better than I know myself,
and encourage me to go for it,
and to reach for the sky,
I realize that it's people like that who believe in me,
are the ones I should be most grateful for.
For lifting my self-esteem,
boosting my confidence,
and raising me up.

I've been in kind of a rut lately with everything.
Doubt is a hard thing to live with.
We all suffer through it every day,
whether it's about our math test that we aren't sure if we'll be able to pass...
(I have a Calculus test on Monday... :|)
or being able to make it as Student Body President.

I can't even explain to you how badly I want this...
and how much I want it to work out.
But through prayer and fasting,
I'm sure I can rid of this nasty infection inside my heart and my brain.
All around, I know I can do this.
And I am COMPLETELY capable of it.
I just need a little help.
And I'm not afraid to admit it!!! :)

Addicted

I'm addicted to editing and I'll be the first one to admit it (especially since I've figured out how to play with photoshop). I'm dying to take some more pictures so that I have more to play with! I've just been messing around with these pictures of my cousin, Maddi. If you've seen some of my stuff before, you've probably seen some of these. They're just edited a little differently this time :)

Tithing is Truly a Blessing. Promise.

My life has taken a few twists and turns in the last week or two. I'm so exhausted and emotionally drained it's not even funny. I was talking to Izak on the phone last night and kind of asking for advice as to what I should do. He helped a lot. I love that kid. A lot. Always there for me. I hope that you have a friend like that, if not several of them. If you don't, than I'm not quite sure how you make it. You may have to explain it to me one day, k?

Anyways, most of you know that ever since I saved up for my big fat camera, I've been trying to pay for drama tour to Las Vegas and LA (yes, we are going to Disneyland :)) I am so super pumped for this trip, nothing is gonna bring me down. (except for maybe the mass amounts of make-up that I'm gonna have to do. Grr...) So two weeks ago I finished paying off the $700 fee. It was time to start saving for souvenirs and food. Glorious food. I love food. But that topic it for another day.

So while I was paying for tour, I was working long Saturday shifts and babysitting whenever it was offered to me and pretty much taking on anything that I could. I remembered to pay my tithing whenever I had cash and I've been pretty good at keeping up on it. As of lately I've been stressing about money and school, time and anxiety and being able to have enough money to go on tour with. I tried to remember that I would pay off tour faster if I paid my tithing first. Still stressing about money, therefore:

....I applied for a second job.

I know, I know... I'm crazy. I KNOW. And guess what else?

I got it.

It was basically handed over to me.
Now, money isn't the only reason I wanted a different job. I love Sensuous with all of my heart, but I need to find something that expands my horizons and find a job where I'm not working for my mother... I just need that perspective. Because let's be honest, I'm not gonna be working for or with my mom forever.

Anyways, I've prayed about it and just honestly... I don't have the time. I hardly have time for my first job... Let alone a second. Homework is just crazy and it doesn't make me happy inside. Anyways, so I'm starving for money right? Well, this is how I got the answer to my prayers.

Yesterday morning in first period, Broberg called me up to her desk. I found out that I had overpaid my $90 for tour! And she's gonna refund that money to me. Apparently tour is only costing us $610 Ha! There's money for food! And I've already paid the tithing for this money! Although I'll probably use some of it for current earnings and tithing and such. It's so nice not having to worry about it. I keep telling my parents that if they pay their tithing, bills will become easier to pay. Dad doesn't believe me.

Tithing is a blessing. It's a privilege and it's a known fact that you ARE blessed when you diligently and faithfully pay that little 10%. Think about it. 10% really isn't that much... You just have to be patient, but the blessings WILL become relevant to you and they will become known unto you. It's so wonderful.

And just so you know.....
....I'm not taking the job.
And just so you know....
Little Caesars is hiring. :)

Starting to Work Out

Ha... I've started working out... Today is day two. I am really tired. I ate lots of food afterwards and probably gained back all of the calories I burned tonight. Ha, and again... I've started working out again. And pushing myself.

If you see me walking funny tomorrow, you'll know why. But first off, let's see if I'm gonna make it out of bed in the morning. Ha!

Hot and Dangerous

Seriously.
Best date I've ever been on.
Really.
It was that fantastic.
I promise.
The day date,
the outfits,
the costumes,
dinner,
donuts,
just brilliant.
And nothing more.
Now to go into full detail of the night cause I'm too lazy to write it all in my journal.
(Brace yourself.)

I wake up around 11:00 cause I stayed up late with my crazy cousins.
Anyways...
I woke up and decided that I ought to start getting ready.
Slowly but surely.
Since I was staying at my aunt's house, I was the last one to get picked up.
I was cool with it.
We sported the back of Jordan's suburban.
We headed to Michael's house.
The idea was to do as many nerdy things as possible.

First we played Monopoly: Tropical Tycoon as couples.
Sadly we didn't win.
But that's okay. We still rocked it.

Then we played Super Smash Brothers: Brawl
Epic right? Right.
Andrew and I got second place in this one.

And then... surprise surprise...
I started a pillow fight.
Sorry it's blurry. But epically, Andrew and Izak got hit in the face just right and their eyes started watering.
The pillow fight ended after that...ha.
Then we played Signs and I am SOOOOO not good at that game. I stink at it.
We just hung out for a little bit and chilled. Talked. Hung out. Ya know... tipped over the recliner...
Ya know... it's just how we roll.

We're pretty much awesome like that. Here are a few quotes from the night:

Andrew: Jordan, you're bass sucks! It sounds like it's farting!

Jordan: *while playing Monopoly* Jared, Michael is a devil on your shoulder... and Izak is another devil on your shoulder.

Savanna: Hey Michael! Do you have any food?
Andrew: Michael, do you have any armpit hair?

So it was time to leave... I was sad... but excited to dress up as a nerd.
So I got back to the house. It was about an hour or so till they came back to get me. Me and Andrew looked sa-weet! But why should you take my word for it? See for yourself!

Man, I just can't get over how much I LOVE this!!!
I loved my outfit.
And his.
We were nerds in love for the night.
And we definitely played the part.
We met up with the other half of our group at Timp.
We wanted to be early so we didn't have to wait in line for pictures.
But I'm waiting to put those on in the end. Cause they're the bestest.
And the funniest.
So after we did pictures, we went to Maceys for dinner.

THE RULES:
  1. You can't spend more than $10.
  2. You have 15 minutes.
  3. You have to buy something for yourselves as a couple and something for the group.

So then this was us, back at Michael's house... just eatin' our food. :)

So these are donuts...
It's story time.
We were racing Izak's car back to Michael's house from Maceys.
I was holding the donuts in one hand.
I was running into the house.
And the box gave out.
And the donuts landed all over the ground.
It was hilarious.
And yes, they got ate.
As far as I know, no one got sick.
And everyone just piled them back in the box while I sat on the ground laughing.
The end.
Andrew claimed that it was the funniest thing that happened all night.
I was pretty proud of myself after that.
Haha, lame huh?
Yeah, not really. ;)

We made fry sauce for our corn dogs.
It was DEEEEEEEEE-LISH!
Jordan and Kallie bought cold cereal and pop tarts.

Izak and Kylie bought Ramen for everybody to share. So... that's 10 packs of ramen... cooking at the same time.
You're right to think that it's a lot.

So here's all of us with our food! (minus a few people)
Trust me... we had TONS of food. I was dying to get to the dance so that we could burn off all of the calories we ate.

His shirt came untucked... haha!

And this is the picture before we went to the dance.
Epic we are.
I had an amazing night.
Best. Date. Ever.
I could go into more details.
But I don't wanna. :)
I love all of my nerdy buddies.
We create fantastic memories that I wanna remember FOR-EV-ER!
(name that movie anyone?)
I wish that it hadn't ended.
Just a few more things:
We watched Spongebob while we ate
and then after the dance
we played MarioKart.
Epic night.
I wanna go back to yesterday.

Read to the End to Find Out Who Asked Me!

I GOT ASKED TO BARGAIN BALL! :)
But let's be honest.
(I didn't think I would.)

But now I can definitely cross it off my bucket list... that is if I make it to Saturday!!! Just watch: I'll come down with some sad, contagious fever thinger and flu and won't be able to go... haha *knock on wood*

Oh! And I found my camera battery! So I won't have to worry about not having any pictures from Saturday. I've got it all set out. My camera is all pretty looking and the screen isn't all scratched up anymore. It's magnificent. I absolutely love it!

Anyways, yesterday, while watching American Idol and attempting to do my Calc homework (all at the same time... ha), there was this loud and kick down the door knock. Dad opened the door and found a disk with my name on it. Haha... uh-oh. I knew exactly what it was.
(I was being asked to Bargain Ball.)

I had been pondering for weeks who I would end up going to Bargain Ball with if I ended going at all. My mind was racing. BreAnna was jumping up and down in excitement (which didnt' help me at all to be perfectly honest... and made me even more nervous...) So I open up the disc and there are these lyrics:
(Brace yourself.)

Yo, what up? This is as white as it gets, BOI!

Once upon a time, this kid went to school.
Believe it or not, he wasn't very cool.
He played D'n'D and checkers and chess.
At Star Wars trivia, he was the best.
Never had anything stronger than milk,
And his suspendas, they made outta silk.
His pants are high with his dice on the ground,
At the comic book store is where he'll be found.

But when she walks in, his heart just stops
He's sweatin' under his argyle socks.

Have you ever heard the story of the two nerds in love?
It's the story of you and me.
A nerd kid and his girl sent from heaven above,
With you I'll get to level three.

You make me feel like I've been struck by a lance,
Will you go with me to the Bargain Ball Dance?

(Listen to the end to hear who's asking!)

Haha, yeah, I was laughing and shaking and all that mumbo-jumbo. It was funny.
(You had to see it for yourself.)
Bre and I went into my room and put the CD into the player.
I can't take this high a level of anxious intensity.
Okay... another confession:
(I pressed the fast-forward button...)
BUT WHAT IS A GIRL SUPPOSED TO DO!!! when there's like a minute of this weird techno-polka going on. It didn't help!
Then all of a sudden my sister goes off on how she knows who it is.
(or at least the 3 guys that it could be)
Haha, yeah, she was over at the house that they were making it at.
And listened to them make it.
Funny. It is.
So you're probably wondering who it is huh?
Well, let me tell you how I responded first. Or better yet, let me show you :)
("What? You have a picture?" Duh...)
This is my response. That I drew last night instead of doing my Physics homework. Haha, yes, I know. I'm a terrible person. But it's cute isn't it???

I dropped it off into his first period class (the only one that I knew he had cause I had the same class but second period...) and it was awesome. Haha, he also told me that at lunch that it was the fastest response he had ever gotten. Well, of course! I hate waiting for responses. And as far as I know he's only asked one other girl to a dance.
(Kylie Thomas to Homecoming.)
So I was faster than Kylie... haha. Awesome.
Alright. It was

Andrew Thomas :)

Love that kid. A lot. And this is the cool red envelope that I found and put his picture in.

I can't wait for Saturday. Really. I'm stoked. This weekend is gonna be wicked sweet and totally chill. Seriously for real.
